A tough, hard-nosed QB who will compete for the starting job in 2005

Junior (2004): Saw action in nine games... Was SMU's top-rated QB with a 126.5 rating... Was the team's leading rusher with 434 yards on 87 carries... Also led the team with four rushing TDs and five total scores... Had the Mustangs' longest run of the year on a 59-yard TD rush at Oklahoma St. and added a 51-yarder at Rice... Completed 48 of 85 attempts for 599 yards and four touchdowns on the year... Also caught a scoring pass against San Jose St.... Had perhaps his best passing game at UTEP, going 14-of-20 for 158 yards (including a 49-yard TD pass) with no INTs.

2002 and 2003 season at Antelope Valley Junior College: Completed 125 of 206 pass attempts for 1,731 yards, 10 touchdowns and just two interceptions as a sophomore in 2003... Had a quarterback efficiency rating of 145.34 in leading AVC to a 5-5 record.

Prep: As a senior at Tehachapi (Calif.) High School in 2002, he led the Warriors to a 10-3 mark and a South Sequoia League championship... Behind his play, the high-powered offense scored a school-record 33.3 points per game... Named a first-team All-SSL selection.
