A newcomer under center in 2004, Jeff Struble collected one selection as the NJAC’s Offensive Rookie of the Week in his first season. The selection came following TCNJ’s 34-26 home victory over Western Connecticut State as he completed 16-of-23 pass attempts for 207 yards with a pair of touchdown passes (7 and 13 yards). He also carried the ball 11 times in the game and added a one-yard scamper to help the Lions erase a 26-14 halftime deficit. Overall on the year, Struble threw for 100 plus yards in seven of the nine games he played in, while twice surpassing 200 throwing yards. His career best performance is a 224 yard effort against Rowan after he was 13-25 in the air with a long of 53 yards to Cory Schoonover. He was not picked off until the Lions’ sixth game of the year and finished the year with 1,157 passing yards. He finished the season ranked fourth in the NJAC in pass efficiency with a 114.80 rating and returned ready to settle in under center as a returning starter in 2005. On his follow-up campaign, he made 10 appearances for the Lions and proceeded to pass for five touchdowns and 1,039 passing yards. He added four rushing touchdowns to his resume on the season with a 91.37 pass efficiency rating and 103.9 yards passing per game, which ranks fourth among the NJAC’s returning quarterbacks. He finished with 108.1 yards per game of total offense on 286 plays. He brings a 49.4% career pass completion percentage into the year as well as 2,196 career passing yards in just 19 games played. The athletic Struble has thrown for 10 career touchdowns, while rushing for another eight and now has 48 career points to his credit, while averaging 115.6 passing yards per game and is responsible for 18 touchdown plays thus far and has a 121.4 career total offense average. A graduate of Manchester Township High School, Struble was captain of both the football and baseball teams there and earned all-conference and all-state honors in both sports. Majoring in health and exercise science at TCNJ.
